Giving back and Giving Thanks: An Exceptional Year

Before we know it, the curtain will close on 2017 and we will embark on a whole new year. As we enter into the holiday season, we often reflect on the both the year that was and the year that will be. And, in the world we live in today, it's important to consider the great people and communities that surround us. So, in the spirit of Thanksgiving we want to take a moment to reflect upon what we are grateful for in 2017 — certainly a momentous year.

Thankful for Our People and Partners

March 29th, 2017 marked an exciting 10th anniversary milestone for MediRevv, and we've been celebrating all year —looking for different ways (some small, some large) to honor our employees, support our client partners, and give back to our communities.

We are thankful for our employees — for the uniqueness that each one brings, the hard work that they undertake every day, and their commitment to the success of our client partners and their patients. We wouldn't be the company we are today without the fun, camaraderie, (healthy) competition and laughter that MediRevvers know as the "norm" for our workplace.

We're thankful for our client partners, too. Beyond giving us an opportunity to serve, they push us think broader yet maintain our painstaking attention to productivity and quality as it relates to revenue cycle performance and the patient experience.

Thankful For Our Community

We’ve been located in Iowa’s Corridor since day one, and we are forever thankful for this unique community. To be in the position to give back is thrilling yet humbling, and to do it on behalf of our great employees is a reward on its own.

The core of our business is in healthcare, and we could not ignore the need in our community to support those faced with adversity. Different health battles are being fought all around us, and it doesn't matter if you've experienced illness personally, or have loved ones facing their end-of-life journey, there is always a need for assistance. With healthcare so near and dear to our hearts, we knew we we could make a difference by giving back.

The University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and The Bird House Hospice of Johnson County are two major organizations we supported monetarily in 2017 on behalf of our MediRevv employees, and these gifts provided comfort for those undergoing treatment or seeking end-of-life care.

Throughout the year we distributed envelopes with $10 bills for our team to “pay it forward” and spread kindness into the community. Whether it was buying a stranger coffee, ice cream, or making a small donation to the Iowa Public Library, it was great to be able to make a big impact through many small acts of kindness.

We rounded out our 10th anniversary celebration with a cause near and dear to all of our hearts (and stomachs) by taking care of outstanding school lunch balances at three area school districts, as well as and sharing a gift with Table to Table as they rescue fresh, nutritious food and deliver it to those in need.

Ongoing Practice of Gratitude

In addition to our 10th anniversary celebration, we continue to provide the benefit of VTO, or volunteer time off, equaling two paid working days to each employee to use over the course of the calendar year. This gives everyone the opportunity to give back to the organization of their choice.

As we move into the holiday season, we look forward to experiencing the joy of supporting those in need in our community, within our own employees and all who we can impact in unexpected ways.
